Another day at the lake

Well, i have a week off basically between my last tests and exam week so ive been shooting a lot. anyway, heres today's lot:

First is a green gripping a rock waiting for something to float by

Monk Parakeet getting some dinner

Cattle Egret taking a rest

and then taking a bath (and from the looks of that water he needed it!)

the last one is a kind of experimental shot, dont know if you will like it or not.

I should mention these (and the last several batches) have all been shot with the 300 2.8 and 2X.

Not sure if I do like the last one. Reminds me of a bird caught in an oil slick. Certainly different, experimenting is always a good artistic exercise. I like the second Green Heron shot for the nice catch it got, plus the view of its huge feet.

When I lived in Forida, they weren't called Egrets. They were known as $h!tbirds from their habit of following the cows around to eat the warm seeds out of fresh pies. Looking at his beak, it looks like he just ate. :mrgreen:

Very nice shots Billy. All are very clear and detailed. The colors are great also.
I like the presentation on these also.
