Cardinal

These are, I believe, the best photos I've been able to get of this female cardinal. She was taking a break from sitting on a nest in my backyard.

Usually the cardinals are very skittish - we have lots of them here that will fly away at the first noise or movement. This one however isn't that bad... she would flit from branch to branch, just giving me enough time to click off a couple photos. She was sitting on a nest not too far from where the pics were taken, so I think she was more willing to hang around close to home.
