Took these probably a month ago and finally got to editing them. First time experimenting with a strobe (AB1600 and shoot through umbrella... lol). Let me know what you think!

Very nice compositions...but the very first thing that caught my eyes were the brightness of the images...looks as if you tried to brighten them up in PS and added too much which loses the contrast...Beautiful model!

+1 The model is sweet and the compositions are great but the first 4 or 5 are washed out either from glare or from being too close to the bg.

Very nice work for a first time with strobes! I think you've done well to take some photos of the model with her tattoo showing and others where it can't be seen, as there are some who love tattoos and others who can't stand them (plus, it looks like she has no bad sides).

I would really like to see number 5 and 6 without the slight haze/hotspotting if it is actually a part of the pp; these are my two favorite shots in both composition and pose.

Thanks guys! I actually wanted to try the whole glow effect. Although it did not come out EXACTLY as I wanted, they came out close. I guess I'll need to practice. Any tips on lighting from the background?

Great model and some good shots. A couple are just a touch too bright but still good....

Here is my breakdown for your shots:

1) Great pose, nice use of an available wall here! Because the light was so harsh, you accidentally (or intentionally) washed the "POP" out of the shot, and the colors are flat here. I LOVE the direction she is looking too!

2) Near perfect, but you are missing the most important part of the shot, the rest of her HEAD Hehe, not really a fan of the "cut-off-head" look, but great skin tone and pose here! Still a little flat overall.

3) Fantastic!

4) This image is near perfect IMHO! I see a diagonal line on the wall in the upper left, and underneath it is a blown-white rectangular shape.... that i really cannot make out what it is, but it's a little distracting. It could use a tad more contrast, but only a smidge

5) Not a bad shot here, but the light is over powering too much of it Starting with the top of her head, and the left side of her face and neck.... going down to her whole left arm, the light spilling over is a bit much for my taste. I really like the composition, pose, and the way her eyes came out here....but cannot see past the light spill. Oh, the wall has a some light spill too.

6) I like this one here, but her forehead, neck area under her chin, and neck are all too blown white here. Other than that, awesome job!

7) Love it! A little bit of her hair is missing, but LOVE IT!

8) PERFECT!

I like them all compositionally. Not sure about how bright they are, but I could live with it. Nice job- care to share the lighting technique? BTW- #1 is my favorite of the set.

I just had the bare light a little under and behind her about maybe 5 feet away for the backlit ones and the first few were just from approximately 45 degrees.
