Hello,

I recently posted a photo in the birds section using my basic PS skills *coughsautosettingscoughs*. After doing some reading online I've refined my skills.

I would love the opinions of people in regards to whether I made the photo any better or completely messed it up.

Thanks in advance to those who are willing to help me.

1. quickly processed - as in auto....

2. manual processing - I think the sharpening may be overdone

3. same processing as above except with reduced sharpening

Once again thank you for your time.

Kind Regards

Sandra -
To my taste, the water is too saturated and bright. Besides looking unnatural it also detracts from the main subject. If I may suggest something like this,

Personally I like the highly-saturated blue water. But that's a personal thing.

More importantly, I would suggest:
1. There is a bright halo under the bird's beak. That could be indicative of over-sharpening. If you're using USM, try reducing the radius.
2. The colour of the bird has shifted considerably from #1 to #2 and #3. I don't know which is right because I wasn't there, but to my mind #2 and #3 look a bit too purple. That might be something you want to take a look at.

Thank you all for your input.

At least I know I'm kinda heading in the right direction. I shall continue to delve into the world of photoshop to refine my skills.

Oh, and the colour of the bird is more natural in my 2nd and 3rd attempts than in the 1st. I think the WB is wrong in the 1st one.
