I use a 350D and I am getting a red cast in my raw files when viewing before processing and in flash photos anyone know why? Got any suggestions, I have reset camera defaults but still there? Mainly highlights!:(

Not apparent in the jPeg shot at the same time

What viewer, what WB, what color settings, is it also in the processed files?

For starters: Check this thread, to see if that solves the problem...

It's not clear what you mean by "normal WB". Canon Auto WB does not work well with tungsten lighting. In DPP change the WB to the appropriate preset for the light source, or click on a known grey or unclipped white element in the image, or adjust the temperature to the best results. OTOH, AWB should give good results with flash unless it is only fill-flash and the primary source is tungsten or flourescent. If the flash is the primary, perhaps the camera is set to an inappropriate custom WB?

Off the topic, but DPP 1.6 is about three generations old. I'd advise upgrading (for free) to DPP 3.0, it is much better.

Sorry Meant Auto the cast appeared in sunlight at Sunset so it cannot be light source outside and why not in the jpeg?

If there is a color cast from the RAW file and not in the companion JPEG, then the only possible explanation is that it has been introduced during the conversion process. The RAW file has no rgb color until the converter creates it. Check your settings in whichever converter you are using.

Color? It's all relative...

Sunset light is very red, similar to tungsten. Many people want to retain that color cast because it captures the ambience of the scene. Others want to adjust to a more neutral tone. If you are among the latter, use any one of the three methods I listed above.
