What is the best way to add a watermark to the bottom of your photos? I have Photoshop and I would like to be able to have a standard one that I can put on all of my pictures that I share out but I am not sure how everyone is doing it?

I'm also interested in this technique - just one of those "other" things in PS that I haven't gotten around to teaching myself yet

Ideally it would incorporate the copyright logo, and also have a dimension that would remain proportional with the photo as you increased or reduced it's display size. That is, if I wanted to display it online at 800x600 pixels, the signature portion should be proportionally small than if I had it actually printed 20x24 inches. Thanks for raising the question. :D - Stu

I'm also in knowing this. Espically the part about keeping the watermark proportional to the size of the photo you're applying it too. I want it to be the same proportions in the same location no matter what the dimensions of the photo

Go here (external link), and watch the QT movie 'Digital Watermark Branding'. Then download the action, and adjust it to taste.
There are a few other ways: A search on 'watermark' will bring up a lot of threads...

You can add your actual Siginature. Start by signing with a smooth dark pen on white paper, let it dry then scan it in and open the image in photoshop, Select the black then copy it to its owne layer and then make a brush out of it, you can stamp this signature to its owne layer, lock the position then drag it onto any new image of the same size and it will keep its position.

60D, Canon 18-135 IS, Sigma 10-20 hsm, 24-70 2.8 hsm, 70-200 2.8 hsm, 430EX II, and all the other stuff that goes along with it.

I never thought of that! I just created one on PSE from a blank doc, added effects and saved it as a .psd. From there I just drag my watermark into the Photo Bin and transform size to fit. The one thing I learned was to NOT save everything as a JPEG without saving a PSD.

Well, after following that tutorial here's what I came up with. I'll tweak it here and there but thanks a bunch for the link!

I'd do this with my shots but my signature is horribly undecipherable!

I simple little text with my website url is what I do.

people will always try to stop you doing the right thing if it is unconventional
