Bald Eagle

What do you think of my Bald Ealge portrait? I was amazed to learn today why they call him a Bald Eagle when he isn't actually bald....shall I tell you?

So, what's the story?

It was the Anglo-Saxons who when discovering America, and indeed discovering the eagle, named the bird the Bald Eagle because "Bald" in anglo-saxon means White. You live and learn

Very sharp, but its not JUST the lens...give yourself loads of credit as well..

Were you serious you didnt realize they were not bald? I guess when you think of buzzards it is quite possible this bird would be bald if it was named bald huh....LOL

I knew they weren't bald But never knew why they were called that. To be honest I actually thought they were named that because they were first seen against a bright white sky and looked bald no laughing at the back!!!
