So I guess you are the type that would rather have a vehicle that requires the handle to roll up the windows vs power windows because power windows are for the lazy and ignorant.

Zepher wrote in post #3105562 Macs are for the computer illiterate. I use Pro Show Gold for quick slideshows and Adobe Premiere and After Effects for more elaborate (Fancy) slideshows. Macs are not for the computer illiterate, they are for people who have better things to do that fine tune their computers all day. canoflan wrote in post #3107740 So I guess you are the type that would rather have a vehicle that requires the handle to roll up the windows vs power windows because power windows are for the lazy and ignorant. well said. -Tom

I must be lucky then. After my initial install I have yet to find the need to "fine tune all day". Mike, The Keeper of the Archive

I'm pretty sure I won't be defragging anytime soon, since OS x does that on it's own, and I'm pretty sure I won't be using any disk utilities anytime soon, since apple software, in majority, is written by apple so there aren't many QC issues with buggy/corrupt files. But, none of this has anything to do with the OP, so I'm not going to argue this any further. Oh, and I guess I have to add one of these in here -Tom

Oh, and I guess I have to add one of these in here Please, insert last word here...If I chose to buy a PC with software pre-loaded then I am absolutely positive that I could have also pressed the "on" button and had no problems either. Since I already owned a copy of XP Pro I chose to build my own PC which is the reason for my initial install. Can you do that with your MAC? Personally I have nothing against Apple, but the attitude of some of the "cultists" and their belief that MAC is the end all, be all does annoy me every now and then. To each his own, which is what makes this country so great. Mike, The Keeper of the Archive

Whether it's all the existing software NOT working with it to all the anti-piracy crap that's clogging the disk and hardware, I must admit that I'm looking at a Mac notebook for my dauther that's going to college this year. Little viruses; all peripherals seem to work first time; gorgeous displays. I'm following this discussion, so please just discuss the virtues and issues of the Mac, no personal attacks...
