I know this is a cheezy one but heck why not? Well, today is one year since the 10D arrived here in England. Lets see here it have been to Wales twice and once each to Ireland and Scotland as well as all over England. I was hoping to get out and take some pics on the one year mark but it has been on/off rain/drizzle/not-sure-what-the-heck-it-will-do-next-kinda-weather today. The shot counter is a few short of 4850 pics total taken. I was hoping to crack the 5K mark but oh well. It has seen the likes of the Concorde, as in its final few commercial flights, the final one and the last flight to Filton in Bristol. It has seen also some portrait work, as I took some pics of one of the kids of a coworker. There have been a fair amount of silly shots taken and of course the progression from consumer glass to Canon L lenses/Sigma EX lenses. It has been indeed an interesting year and there is a ton more to be learned!

Happy first birthday to my Canon EOS 10D and many more to come! I have now a pic I will have to tweek after backing up all these gazillion pics I took on hiloday in Northern England/Scotland and put on the forum. I do believe it was taken in a garden near Lake Windemere in the Lake District in England.

I have thought about getting the 1D Mark II but as cool as it is, I can't justify $4500 of camera at this time. I think I will be content for now with the 10D, there isn't a thing wrong with it. It still shoots fine, just it is now a year old and has about 4850 shutter actuations.

And now it is time for the cake which I will eat on behalf of the 10D

Oh man, there are some REAL camera nerds here! :P Eating a cake for the birthday of your 10D (remember to use the 10D to make a photo of the cake before eating it!) or even a guy who bought an 1D Mark II with the money for his wife's boob job!!! (Is he serious?!). :D

Did you also give your camera a name? Maybe you should call it "Teddy" - sounds a bit like "Ten Dee"..... 8) ..."I'm going out with Teddy this afternoon, see you later".... :)

Congratulations.... my Teddy will be six months old on 8 May, and I've just shot frame # 2000 last weekend.

I haven't named it and well it was more having fun, being silly, you know.

Just be careful how you say Teddy...it means something very different in the US under certain circumstances. I will pm you that one...

I know, I was also joking, but that's what makes the forums here more relaxed and more fun than on some other websites, where people are all being so serious...
