This birding thing is getting quite addictive. Had another ride along to my local WWT center today and managed to grab a few more shots in the wild areas. Any more tips and comments most welcome.
Got a few of the Grey Herrons as they eventually came into reach of my lens (100-400 + 1.4tc)

I got a few more shots of the Bullfinches and Goldfinches and tried using fill flash as suggested to me on my previous post.

A pair of Greater Spotted Woodpeckers turned up, but these were the best shots I could get. If only he came into full view

These are all great shots. Did you shoot in RAW and use CS2 by any chance? I think the top two could be either darkened or add some saturation to it.

I did shoot RAW and I converted them using Raw shooter. I'll have another go at them and see what I can come up with. Thanks for your comment :D

I was going to suggest that for the top two, while in RAW, give the shadows slider a couple of bumps up. I've found that adding a couple numbers to the Shadows will give it more saturation and with less noise than actually adjusting saturation. :)

The finches came out real nice to my eye.

Had a quick go at the Herrons again. Do these look better?

Corrections look really good. Amazing what a couple of adjustments can do for the image. Both captures are excellent.

Thanks Bill. I'll have to spend a little more time processing the pictures in the future, to make sure I get the best out of them. Thanks again to Canonloader for the adjustment tip :D

Regards, Kevin.

Very nice. The adjustments to the heron shots helped. There is a lot of expert advice here for the taking!
