Dear friends,
I am having a unique problem. WHen I connect my new 400D to my computer it shows a new device pop up. There is also an windows incon on the right bottom, the usual one which shows any temporary storage device connected to computer. But after I have transfer all picutes to the computer I see that sign no more. therefore I am not able to "disconnect device" before I plug out my camera USB plug.

It happened when I dint install the Canon softwares which came along with the camera, its happening even after installing.

I wonder if my Sandisk Pro' card will get spoil :!:

#include <iostream>
int main() {
std::cout << "POTN is the best." << std::endl;
return 0; }

I connected my camera to the computer the day I got it, set the owner info and haven't connected again. While I seriously doubt you will harm anything, I would suggest you get a card reader. It's faster, safer, more dependable.

I'll bet you're using Windows XP. This is a bug...excuse me, an "undocumented feature"...of the OS.

The camera appears to the computer as a "drive," which allows you to move and/or copy files. When you are done, you should move the window up one level (usually "My Computer") to flush the buffer. You may then disconnect.

The safest way to transfer files is, of course, with a card reader. I agree with Titus213. You should get one and go that route.
