Anyone From Ireland? I'm on my way!!

I'll be paying your beautiful island a visit for 14 days. I'll be looking for some not super tourist things to do and needless to say photograph.

I'll be there Saturday landing in Shannon at @ 10:00.

Staying in Ennis for 4 days then moving on to Cork for 5 days and finishing off in Kilkenny for anyother 5 days. So if anyone has one of those hidden wonders I shouldn't miss please let me know.

The things I am already going to see are the Cliffs of Moher, the Burren, Blarney Castle & Waterford Crystal. Other than that I'm roaming the counrtyside and spending time in the pubs at night!

I can't wait to get there!!!

So if you see a 6'3" lean American with a Canon, say Hi and might just buy you a pint!

Ive just been to Dublin! For st patricks day. If you are over in dublin, going to the Uni there, and see the Book of Kells. It is something very interesting. Also if you like bridges Dublin by night has some nice bridges.
Deff go to the Blarney Castle!

Try Pheonix Park if you have time while in Dublin, lots of roaming Deer and Stags. In Cork try and get down to Kinsale for good seafood. And in Ennis ummm well yea, hope you find something to occupy yourself with only joking.

Yea this would be stop #1 for me!!!

I was in Ireland last year. If you can make sure you visit Connemara, Aran and Dingle.

I was in Ireland in 1983, but it seems like yesterday. You'll remember it forever. One of my favorite areas was riding a bicycle through the Gap of Dunloe, and Dunloe castle (or what's left of it). Some of my best Europe shots were in the Gap. Have fun.

haha also in Dublin dont forget about the "Jameson Irish Whisky Factory" hmmm thats good stuff.

THe Book of Kells is fabulous, but I don't think you can photograph it (and the lighting is extremely low) - and you can only file by as part of a group. So if time is extremely limited, might give it a miss. Having said that - it is a wonder, and I've always been glad to have seen it.

Have you thought of New Grange in the Boyne Valley?

Holly Cow, it's Beautiful over here!!! Just finishing up day 4 and I'm going to need more memory. I've already gone through 4 out of the 6 gigs I have.
I have driven all over Co. Clair and the lower Shannon. I've seen some wonderfull things and had an great time of it thus far. The Cliffs of Moher and the Burren are a Can't miss for anyone who comes this way. It has not howerver gone off without some problems, the biggest one being driving on the Left side of the road!! There have been a few close calls getting used to the small roads. I have left a lot of shrubs screaming in pain behind me! Today however I had to pass a tour bus on the caost road and a pointy rock popped the front tire, luckily the VW Golf I rented has a full size spare.
But anyway, I'm heading back into the Pub for another pint, I'll even drink this one to all of you kind forum members!

Chow for now! I'f I come across another free internet terminal I may stop back in to give more updates. I can't wait to post some of the pictures for you to see the beauty of this land.

Make sure you go to Galway, and go for fish & chips at McDonaugh's.

Amen to the North. My first trip to Ireland included Co. Tyrone (Omaugh) checking for namesakes. Absolutely beautiful.......

We plan on doing the north side next time we take vacation here. It has been wonderful thus far and I see us coming back in the future!

P.S. I'm in Cork today. The driving is getting easier now. I found a computer store that is putting my CF on DVD.
