I meant converting from RAW to photoshop.

Once again thanks for the help you guys have provided. I spent some time this morning trying to get to the root of the problem and have discovered that’s it’s probably something to do with my Planar monitor which is two years old. I tried another monitor and after calibration found the problem is almost gone. It is still unclear why this isn't a problem with CS2.

I suppose it is something to do with the Spyder not being able to calibrate the monitor correctly? One difference is that the monitor I tried and had success with was an analog monitor. The problem monitor uses the digital DVI connection.

Regards
Mike

Well, the other monitor has a different profile, so I'd expect the difference to be different...

No idea on the DVI: Don't use one, since my monitor is an analog CRT.

I don't understand the problem didn't exist with CS2. Have you tried CS2 recently?

Anyone else got an idea???

I can't get CS2 to "develop" a RAW image now that CS3 is installed. I just look back at the photos I developed with CS2 and they show the same in photoshop and in explorer.

Strange. I use CS2 and CS3 Beta side by side (not at the same time). Must be different for the final version?

You say the older files look *the same* in PS and Explorer? That sounds strange, because at the least you should see the difference between the files profile and your monitors, even when using sRGB.
What profile is embedded in the file?

Another thought: Is the color management Syncronised throughout CS3? (including Bridge)
