Losing Quality Editing

I was wondering about how much quality you lose when you boost up your colors a whole bunch or any type of photoesiting (Temperature. Contrast, Saturation etc.)...........Surely it makes the picture more nosiy and such right??.............Is it worth making a picture with crappy colors look good if your taking the quality down?

If you do it in raw, you shouldn't lose anything, within limits. If you push color too far, for example, you may exceed the color gamut & won't be able to get a "good" print.

Depends on what you want/like?
