I'm excited. When this camera came out 3 years ago, I was drooling over it but couldn't afford it so I got the 20D. Now the price dropped low enough for me to sell the 20D and get a used one.

I've used it before but nothing compare to having your own to play with :)

A couple of first pics at ISO 800 shot in JPG with standard parameter with the 24-70. I like it that at 24mm, it's wider now.

Now I know why some people said the 1D MK II pushes the red a little redder :D

Thanks George, I'm sure by summer, it'd be cheaper :)
I couldn't believe I waited that long for this though. I guess I was pretty happy with the 20D. I'll definitely miss the small size of it when travel or on casual vacation outings.

jacobsen1, I was thinking of getting the 1D and keep the 20D but decided to make the jump and get what I originally always wanted. I have to admit, the 5D is a different beast though. :)

The 1DmII is a fantastic camera. Don't get me wrong mine will be missed, but for me I shoot primarily landscapes so the added MP on the 5D and lighter weight are huge pluses. That and I never need 8fps and 8mp AT THE SAME TIME. 4mp is more than enough for me when I need 8fps. So it was a move that took me a while to sort out, but I'm glad I did it.

Plus, the 1D was one of those bodies I've lusted after since it was announced. I never could afford it, and by the time the price dropped it was a mII so obviously I got that. But I still wanted to 1D for some reason, I'm just drawn to it's images more out of the camera... So even though it's a lesser spec, I love it and I'm glad for me I made the move. Not many people here though I was sane, but I'm not, so who cares.

Enjoy your mII, It's a fantastic camera.
Ben

Congrats. I like mine too, but use the original more as kind of a snapshooter/beater camera. :)

They feel good in the hands, eh? :D

I like the color from CCD sensor alot. It has that "wet, saturation" look to it that I can explain but it looks really nice to me. If it was 6mp or so I would have gotten it as I'd hate to loose the MP by cropping :(

Yes siree, it is. Feel much more comforable than the 20D+grip. Pair it with the OP/Tech neckstrap and it doesn't feel heavy at all. I still think I need to get teh handstrap for it though. :)

CMOS sensor.

And yeah...The 1 series feel way better than a 20/30D + grip.

Man I'm jealous. I want my 1 series back.

I think he is referring to iamges from the 1D classic, which does use a CCD sensor.

And yes, these 1 series cameras do feel good. So good.
