Just installed the lastest version on Photorecord, 1.4.? that came with my S820D Sadly it crashes instantly on startup, annoying really because the older version seemed to work OK. I'm on XP Pro, is there any known probelms with XP & Photorecord ?

Any suggestions would be very welcome !!

Pete

I just got the A40 and...

I have a Compaq computer with tons of memory running Win98se. I have had nothing but problems with PhotoRecord. No need to go into details but it is the same as discused here.

I have also had some problems with the camera itself the biggest being the fact that I only get 2hrs run time vs. the specified 4hrs. Even with NiMH batteries the time is not much better.

Here is the reply from Canon:

Dear ----,

Thank you for your inquiry.

Unfortunately we have not had this problem with other customers that are running Windows 98 before. We are sorry that your system failed to print from our software.

We do apologize for any inconveniences.

My solution:

I took the DAMN thing back and got a full refund!!!
