I just spend lots of time shooting flying creatures around me, that's all.
All I can tell ya is that it comes down to monitoring your own keeper rate and trying to improve it constantly.
Also, try not to use the frame burst.....shoot in one shot mode precisely at moments you want to capture....it's harder in a way, but it pays off in the long run.;)

He was sitting about 15 yards from my blind when I walked in and Chirpped a warning I braced on the nearest tree as he flew by I got 2 shots but the other only part of the bird was in frame.

BTW I have about a couple hundred of close in-flight of several Raptors

OK, a blind is the answer.
BTW, that GBH is very nice.;)

Fine shots, Gary....that looks like the 500 f/4IS at work.
The baldie is great, a shot like that one can only get from a blind, in a raptor centre or in Homer, Alaska.:lol:
