What do you all think, macbook or macbook pro. What size and what specs? Ignore RAM and harddrive size because I would update that later. Please help. Thanks. I went the route of the 2gHz Macbook since I don't use the laptop too heavily for photo work. When I do, the image files get migrated into my Aperture library on the Mini. Unless you need the ability to drive two monitors independently or need 3 gigs I'm not so sure there's much of an advantage to the Macbook Pro. "Raw" is not an acronym, abbreviation, nor a proper noun; thus, it should not be in capital letters.

I went with the 13" Macbook and 2 gigs and I'm very happy with it. With the money I saved I bought CS3 Design Standard (Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator and Acrobat). Just waiting for it to arrive... The Macbook Pro has a much better (faster) video card with its own dedicated video memory. If you need fast graphics, for example for games, video editing etc., get the Pro. Otherwise a regular Macbook will also do. For photo work and video editing, the Macbook is perfectly adequate, so long as you have 2 gigs of RAM. The GMA 950 video chip uses 80 mb of RAM and is perfectly capable of quickly processing RAW images and 30 fps video at DVD quality. Personally, I don't think its worth another $400 to $500 for the Macbook Pro for what the OP's needs are (which are vitually identical to mine).
