There were actually two eagles trying to run this Great Blue Heron out of their fishing territiry. There isn't enough images allowed to show it all, so here is a cut down version of the first pass.

Lining up on the target...

The Heron sees him coming and is squawking loud enough to wake the dead...

Now the Heron knows the Eagle is serious, lot of squawking...

Now that would be awesome to see in person, well done capturing this Mitch, I would have stood in awe with camera dangling. :(

Thanks Trevor. Dude, the reason these are blurred is I had jumped out of the truck and was running through the trees to get a clear shot. I ended up just sitting in the grass and trying to hold the Bigma steady enough to focus. Well, I was laughing too, soo.... :D

I heard it before I saw it, you could hear that heron squawking a mile away, so the eagles must have been harrassing him for awhile before I got there.

Gary, I did get enough eagle shots for another thread though, all of them nice and clear. ;)

Thanks Billy. I could see them flying around something in the water long before I got close enough to see what it was. There also appears to be a nest on the other side of the channel and the eagles fish this spot cause it's close and has lot's of fish. :)

Cool, Mitch.

Can I just suggest that you straighten these up? Sloping water really leaps out at me!

;)

Quite a series here Mitch. You did very well catching that behavioural action with a Bigma while on the run. The only that might improve these shots IMHO is a bit of clockwise rotation for the frames.

Thanks guys. I tried to straighten out one and it still looks odd. I think what we see is an optical illusion due to the long lens and where I was. I'm pretty sure the camera was level and the fact that they are all slanted at the same angle sort of bears this out. But, if I straighten out the bank on the far side where the guy in the boat is, the water is still angled on the near side. What this is is two channels running from different angles.
