The contrast of yellow on black makes this bird a challenge for a good exposure. Hope this one is close enough for government work. I like the dainty little finger pose, too...

Looks like the birds are cleaning out your feeders. The frost kill has made it tough on them.

We have some local sayings that might not translate everywhere else... "It's good enough if you can't see it from the dam." is one, and "Close enough for government work." is another.

Very nice shot and these yellow birds are not always easy I've tried ..mine get blown out most of time on that yellow .
