Another bird from Algonquin Park , it was quite thrilling to locate this Northern Woodpecker , but what made it even more thrilling was the fact that he was working on making a nest cavity , it was just another huge plus on an allready amazing day , Hope you enjoy C & C welcome

I didn't go into the woods to take pics of him Ted remember I was going to try and see if I approached from the other side of him if he would fly back so Dan could get some shots( which never happened ) ,,, 1 keeper from the push Ted

I was on the wrong side of the tree and got nothing on this guy like you and Ted did. I could hear your shutters snapping pic after pic after pic...you guys are lucky I am a nice guy and didn't move as so to disturb your subject ;-)a

Great job on the capture in very tough lighting/BG conditions, Wayne. Now that you know it's a nest cavity, you can return at your leisure and in great light to get more images. Maybe in awhile we'll see you posting some young b-b woodpeckers sticking their heads out of the hole. :D
