Glossy Ibis

On thursday i managed to get a picture of a glossy Ibis which is a rare visitor to the UK. this was taken to the north of WWT Slimbridge near the river severn.

the light was not great but you work with what your given. 1DmkIIn, 600mm +1.4tc had to use iso 650 (not nice) to get shutter speed up.

processed with Rawshooter about 20% crop.

hope it looks ok as i think its lost a bit due to compression for posting ?

posted less than 21 hours ago and already its dissapeared on to page FOUR ! and as far as i know this is a very rare visitor to the UK. perhaps i'll go back to photographing Mallards.........;) :lol: :lol:

Hi Glen nice photo, these are rare visitors to the UK and i believe quite a few turned up there.

Could you please send one up Northumberland way :) preferably next weekend:D

Nice shot of a bird not all that common in the US. And for the UK, I would think a very rare sight.
