Found a pair of juvie great horned owls this morning (and for those of you who were concerned about me hogging the owl, I called my sister pttenn and invited her over to share...) This is one of the siblings giving us the eye.

They just look so huggable. I bet some smart cookie could make a mint if he made some soft toy owls.

I do not believe that bird has flight feathers yet. They must be close to the nest site.

Excellent, Bob--using your TC must have made the difference. I didn't get a shot that good. Darn it.

Thanks for all the positive comments! It's fun to find something this incredible just across the street from your house, trust me. Hope to post more when I have time to work them up. I appreciate the comments very much.

Really nice shot. Those claws look too big for this little fellow.

yeah, one look at the talons on a bird that's really only a baby and you realize this isn't a cute and cuddly little stuffed animal. In a couple of weeks this little fuzzball will be swooping down on cute and cuddly little animals every night...
I think the eyes are about as serious as it gets.

Photographs are records of life. Pity they don't make music when you put them in a record player. :p
