I had to make a movie poster for class .... this is a real movie from last year, I took the photo of the surfer last tuesday and made everything in illustrator except the 3 logos at the bottom ... I did copy most of the text straight from the real poster [most].

Just wondering if it could pass as a real poster? lol
the only thing that bugged me was the actual title, I dunno just something about it ... like it wasnt strong enough

click on it to enlarge!!

Everything looks good...

Except I don't like the Step Into Liquid effect. it just doesn't seem like it goes with the rest of the poster to me...

If in doubt, I shut up...

Gear: 40D, 12-24mm AT-X Pro, 17-85mm, Sigma 150mm Macro Sigma 100-300 F4, 550EX, other stuff that probably helps me on my way.

I agree. The title is too different from the rest of the text, It needs to at have a common theme (i think there is a rule that you should not have more than 4 syles of type this includes color, effects, the type itself, etc. ?)

Otherwise the poster kicks ass!!!!! It is very belivable. Great job

I think it's awesome!!!

From an ex-print designer, the only thing stopping it from looking even more superb, is NOT using times new roman as the title and the lettering at the bottom. Or whatever Serif typeface you chose ...

Use something Sans-serif - it'll loook tons better!

Like Impact for the bottom - that always looks decent for small type on a poster ... and I'm talking about the first line of type, the one with the bullet points ... The No's ...

Great picture!!!!!!

Cheers,
Erika

thanks again ... Ill give it another shot with a different font, I really didnt like the Times NR but I didnt want to spend the time changing it all, now I see that it would be a good idea :)
I copied some of the text and design/layout from the original poster
