Another set of birds...two woodpeckers and the first one I am not sure of. I am still learning...and have not had much seat time with the 400 till now. I am sure it will take some time to get the hang of it, and the weight...but, these are all handheld. I may have to get a stronger tripod...but, that will be in the future.

Hope you like 'em, and of course, I would prefer any comments, versus the silence. :)

Nice shots. That first one is a Male Northern Flicker. He's generally in the grass with the Robins, eating ants. The other two are a Downy Woodpecker. If you have the time to spend with them, they will get real tame. And they love peanuts. :)

Thanks for the ID Mitch, on the first one. I had to walk two blocks from the house, just to get these...through city streets, etc. I wish they would come closer to our house...hehe. Maybe I will have to put some peanuts on the deck...and see what happens.

Appreciate the time, and comments. Getting there...the more seat time I have with the 400, the better I seem to get...sometimes it works, sometimes, not. It's all part of learning, so I don't let anything discourage me. Fun for me anyway...that's the best part.
