Yellow Warbler (not to be confused w/ the Yellow-rumped Warbler)

While the names may be a source of confusion the appearances definitely are not!

I made these images this evening as well. The Yellow Warbler was in the next tree over from the Yellow-rumped Warbler that I posted a little earlier and also a little farther away. For the most part, this little guy stayed well hidden among the leaves and buds. I could see the shaking from the movement but that was about it. Every once in a while he's pop out for a moment.

Thanks for looking and as always C&C is welcomed and appreciated. I am also interested in your opinion of the two crop variations - moderate and tighter!

The first appearance.

Same image but a tighter crop. What do you think?

Another image from the non-flowering shrub.

I'm not yellow! I'm a tough guy!

Another tighter crop. Again what do you think?

Very cool series of shots, hard to know which is prettier, the foliage or the beautiful warbler.

Thanks Dennis. Thanks Reyno. I appreciate the feedback a lot.

I do think the flowering trees add a certain beauty to the backgrounds for the birds. I just wish they wouldn't hide among the leaves and flowers so much! :D

Anyone have any comments on the crop comparisons?

Nice series Ed. Is this guy smaller than the yellow rumps?

Thanks Mitch. Thanks Keith. Glad you guys liked these images. It was fun hanging out and taking them.

Mitch, the Yellow Warbler is a little smaller than the Yellow-rumped. The difference you see in the photos is because the tree the Yellow-rumped was in was closer than the one the Yellow Warbler was in.

Beautiful series ! I also prefer the crops because the subject stands out more. Could you do a crop on the fourth shot ? I really like that pose with the catchlight in his eye .

I missed you in my last note. Mea culpa. Thanks for the comments. I really appreciate hearing others reactions to the photos I take. It gives me a sort of barometer of how I am doing.

Thanks. I will post a few more from tonight with the heavier crops (and possibly with the moderate crops as well for comparison).

Your wish is my command. Look for a few more Yellow Warbler images from tonight with the moderate and the heavier crops.

Very nicely done Ed, great detail, and you have some nice foliage as a bonus. I got some shots of these guys last year, they were nesting in the border between a marsh and a field.
