It is a great lens, a major reason for me to go digital with a crop camera. Couldn't live without ultra wide.

I agree - if you can get close its great for birds!!:

Wow, to those who do not have this lens, you really can't appreciate just how close he got to this bird. I would venture to say about 12" away.

I love my 10-22!

According to my calculations even at 22mm (full zoom in) the field of view is 12.3x8.2 inches at a distance of 12inches so (unless it is a crop) he was even closer!!!! (Must be a crop!).

C'mon Racketman - spill the beans! The robin and you did a deal, right? What was in it for him? Bet it was chickenfeed! LOL!

Great thread :)
Gives me a chance to pull out two of my favorites. Both from the South Island of New Zealand.

Both 20D + 10-22 at 10mm, uncropped and without any lens correction.

Wow, those pictures are out of this world! You guys/gals make me so happy to have gotten this lens last week. The weather has been yucky since then though. So haven't had time to get a decent shot yet.

I'll write exactly the same thing. Matt, feel guilty. I don't know if the night, while you are sleeping, you'll dream of us in a camera store where whe give away ALL our money, included the last little coin... [SIGH]
:p
I was trying to stop myself thinking to THAT lens, now I think that it's failed!!!

p.s.
JohnnyBlood, you too... and also RichardtheSane, are guilty.
If one day you'll visit Italy, and you'll see a poor homeless man sleeping under a brigde with his head on a Tamrac bag as a pillow, you'll remember this thread...
