Stunning pic, Johan. Is that sand to the right of the close rocks or mist or blurred waves tops? What did you use for lighting?

Those would be waves coming in. The lighting was all handled by town lights. I just plunked my camera there and took the shot. :)

This photo did require extensive PP work to bring down the noise and balance the exposures. I would love to take another shot at it if given the chance because I would much rather get some long star trails in the background and reduce the ISO.

Used this lens for the first time today at Skyline Drive in Virginia. Got it as an early Christmas present from my wife :)

Nope, not mine but every once in a while i see this car parked at my neighbors house and it reminded me of an old 50's picture of the car outside by itself in the moonlight lit by a single streetlamp. I thought that it was pretty cool and tried to replicate it by taking a long exposure and playing with it in lightroom. I think they came out ok, but I'd love to see other edits on it, so if you can do better please feel free to show me. I'd love to see what people can come up with using this picture.

BTW - side note - first set with my 10-22, loving the colors this thing produces!!!

There are a lot of stunning pictures here! I just got my 10-22 and have a simple question - I have a slim polarizing filter but forgot to purchase a UV. I rarely shoot wide open (f5.6-f8 with this lens most likely) so will a regular B+W UV filter work at 10mm without visible vignetting or should I still go with a slim filter?

In advance - thanks!

Nick.

regular will work - especially since the 10-22 is usually used on a 1.6 crop camera... and using a regular would not create vignette in this situation... even at 3.5 (wide open) since you mentioned it.

We had this car in blue when I was a kid in the 50's...and we parked on our street similar to this image. Wow, how to bring back some great old memories. Thanks

just a few of my thoughts...

Thanks, Mike. I went and ordered the normal B+W UV f-pro mrc filter; should be here in about a week.

Nick.

excellent lens protection, Nick, and very little effect on the image in my experience. (shhh.. don't say that too loud, you know some folks would never place a filter on their lens .... :) )

I use a B+W MRC f-pro as well. But its hardly ever on the lens, as I now alternate between a CPL and my Lee holder when using the 10-22...
