Well, I got my lens today, had to drive about 5 miles to meet the UPS driver at a Walgreen's...I couldn't wait until Monday :). First pics...this lens is going to be a blast!

Hi BLACKZZZ

I assume you’re talking about the “Drop Shadow” effect.
Yes it’s done in Photoshop or probably any other editor. But for Photoshop it’s very straightforward - easier than the intructions indicate.

To create a margin around your image:

Select the main layer in the layers palette.
Go to Image menu-
Select canvas size
Choose a width & height for your margin (it varies with the size of your image and your preferences) – I used .7 on both on my image.
Choose canvas extension colour (I chose white)
Click OK (you now have a margin around your image)

To make the drop shadow:

With the same main layer selected in the layers palette, click on fx at the bottom of the layers palette.
Select drop shadow
Select a colour for your shadow (usually black)
Blend mode normal
Select angle required (135 degrees is OK)
Select distance
Select Spread
Select size to suit yourself
Adjust the opacity below 100% to achieve the effect you want.
CLICK OK
That’s it.
Hope it helps.

If you wish to make a line around the outside:
Still with the same main layer selected press CTL A to select the whole image.
Go to the EDIT Menu:
Select Stroke
Choose a width (try 7px if you’re not sure)
Choose INSIDE
Choose a colour for the outline.
Click OK. (You should now have a thin line outlining the image.)

Press CTRL D to get rid of the selection. (marching ants)

Davideo0,

Thanks a ton for the detailed info..very much apreciated!!
Will try my hand at this sometime today.

Man I love that GAU-8 on the A-10 on those last few pics. Sounds like a huge zipper. Every now and then we support them up at Fort Drum for live drops. Those guns sound amazing. I'm on an F-16 base but I would much rather be dealing with A-10's.

Get this, and then get the 17-55 IS. Both should be L's in my opinion.
