Bradkb, I got a 40D too and I'm a bit surprise on how your 400ISO seems very noisy !!!

Did you use another "special setting" ?

My copy won't leave any details of noise @400ISO. Look at my shots (on previous page) in the church, I was @1600ISO and there is no noise appearing on blacks :confused:

I did notice it appears quite noisy, and have shot at 1600 and was impressed, here is the exif

Even though this is off topic on this thread, I would try playing around with white balance. I've couple times seen similar situations on 40D's RAW images in BibblePro, that I use as RAW converter. With one white balance setting sky looks awful and with something else its smooth as silk.

Aww poopy! Well I'm renting this lens this weekend anyways, looking forward to seeing it in action! I'll be shooting a new 2008 BMW M3 (which I have for the week :D ).

The 3rd one has been quite tricky because there was no light at all... Even difficult to see the Sacré Coeur in the viewfinder hehe.
