Female blackbird.
Sigma 70-300 F4-5.6 APO DG Macro
RAW - 400D - Focal length 238 mm - F11 - 1/45Sec - ISO 200 -Tripod used. Slightly cropped.

First "serious" shot with this lens.

Nice catch David. I think this is the first female of this bird I've seen pics of. The shape looks a lot like our Robins.

Your right Mitch - pics of your robins remind me also of our blackbird. Our robin is about half the size.

Thanks Bill. This bird was walking towards me down a narrow dark path. I hope this lens works for me ok. I also have a 2X converter. Does that give me 600mm? In good light it should work but haven't tried it yet.
