Im trying to figure out if there is a cable or adapter I can use to fire an 'inherited' metz 60 flash with ebay remotes. The flash works, I have a replacement battery on the way and I was contemplating selling it, but if I can use it off camera its a rather powerful flash. Granted its not the easiest to use in manual but I can cope. I see I can get an optical slave with pc port, and if this is the easy option I can do that but I figured Id ask here since my research so far isnt coming up with much.

I should probably follow that up by saying I have the remotes with the mini phone type jack, not the hotshoe king. So metz 60 CT1/2 > miniphone is what I need.

Do you have the Metz cord? If so, does it have 6 or 8 rows of contacts (I think the CT-1/2 has 8 rows of contacts).

The ebay radio slave you have, does the cord have a 1/4 inch (6.3mm) plug, or the 1/8 inch (3mm) plug you indicate (miniphone)? Most of the radio slaves on ebay end in a 1/4 inch plug, not a 1/8 inch (miniphone).

Buy the way that is a nice flash, with a lot of power.

I have some Metz 6 row contact cords on the way that I could adapt, but no Metz 8 row contact cords. I do not think there is any "non custom" cord for your application.

Enjoy! Lon

I have the metz cord, i'll have to check the pins when I get home. The ebay trigger is 1/4 inch with a 1/8th adapter, I've been using the adapter with hot shoe adapters for other flashes so I said that wrong.

Yeah the cord is 8 row. I guess i'll keep looking or see if I can get a few off ebay and see if I can figure the pinouts and mod myself a cable. Looks like paramount will make one for $50 =/

Hah, it helps to look at the BACK of the remote. This thing has a PC port on it. At least now Im sure it trigger the metz with no problem, now if I can find one of those mecamat's I can fine tune power use.
