So I have decided to upgrade to CS3. I went to Los Anchorage over the weekend and all I could find was CS2! AND, that was running, get this $799.00!!!!!

Whats up with that? How much is CS3 going to go for? And is it out yet, or are we ust that far behind the times?

CS3 is out. Don't know that you will find too many at the stores just yet though. Also, the price is most likely for the full version, not the upgrade. You can upgrade on Adobe's site most likely and download CS3.

CS3 runs at $1000 to $2500 USD depending on the suite that you get. See here for pricing in US/Canada (external link)

Photoshop itself starts at $650

You can upgrade from 7.0 to CS3 for 199.00. Go to Adobe.com and type in CS3 upgrade in the search box, it will give you the info.

I bought Design Premium online last night for 599.00. Which is going to work out to about 655 CAD plus 20.00 for shipping. This is alot less than anyone in Canada is selling for.

I had already bought it from one retailer and it showed up here but was the wrong version. I was some ticked. Got a return approval and bought directly from Adobe.

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.

as i mentioned. you have to have legally purchased it, have a real working bought serial number REGISTERED under your name on an adobe.com account to be able to use the upgrade.

It must be a legal registered copy. You can call Adobe and give them the serial number and they can tell you if it is an upgradeable copy.

So, if you went out and bought a cheep PS version and registered it, could you then also go an upgrade?

IF, it has not already been registered by another person, and it is at least PS7 then yes. although because of this reason older versions tend not to be too "cheap" because most sellers realize that their software is still valuable for upgrade reasons.
