my camera dropped out my cheap rucksack last week with the 100-400 attached, i managed to test it outside today , when i try to focus all is well ,the pic looks ok in the viewfinder, and the auto focus does its duty, but when i check the pics on my computer most are well out of focus, even the one,s on manual focus , im thinking maybe the is is gone, anyone know how much this costs? every now and again one was in focus

i took a few with the kit lense to see if it was a problem with the camera but they look ok

That sounds identical to my 500f4. 95% of the shots are front focused so the birds arent as sharp as they should be . then suddenly I will get one bang on in focus.
My lens is going back under warranty soon. I would say if its just a focus recalibration it wont be much to fix.
