Ack! I messed up my monitor's focus. Help!

Ok, I have a Gateway VX1120 22' CRT monitor. I was having a color cast problem that I discovered how to fix via the factory menu. Well, while I was in there I discovered 3 focus controls and like an idiot I had to see what they did:o. So now my monitor is out of focus and I can't figure out how to get it back. There are 3 values DBHA, DBHP, DBVA. Focus is achieved by tweaking each, but when you get one part of the screen in, another part goes out.

I'm hoping someone here is experienced in this area. If I knew what each value actually was and what I was shooting for with each I would be set. Also, I'm guessing I need some kind of test pattern to look at while I'm adjusting.

I know I should have wrote the values down before I started messing around. I know I'm a huge idiot for messing it up. Here's to hoping someone can help me out...

Might there be a "default" option that restores the monitor to factory pre-sets?

Can't you just put it back to default menu settings?

Uhhh neewp, that's the problem. I got into the menu the factory uses to set the calibration, not the user OSD menu. Resetting that menu does nothing to the factory menu. I think I'm in trouble

Might have to give Gateway a call on that then.

I would still try to fix it myself. It's ruined for now and no amount of fiddling can make it any worse. Though, you need to be systematic in your troubleshooting. First on the list is to get a monitor/CRT pattern generator. There's this program called Nokia Test that can help you with your endeavor.

If it is still under warranty I would contact Gateway and see if you can get it fixed.

oj88!! That is EXACTLY what I needed! That test is absolutely awesome! My monitor looks great now (and I've recorded all the settings:o). Thanks for taking the time to reply and help a guy out. I was seriously pulling my hair out.
