May 1st - still no rebates.

Perhaps I'd be better off playing the lottery than guessing when we'll see some new rebates.

Not a bad idea. I'm waiting for rebates, too. We know they are right around the corner!

I'm leaving on the 19th for a two week trip to california and really starting to push it, I think.

Both those lenses are included in the current European promotion.

I was in a similar situation...leaving on May 28 for Hawaii.....never had a DSLR, so considering the learning curve time...I caved and ordered the 30D, 10-22, and just ordered the 70-200. Figuered I'd use the B&H code on the first 2 items and be thankful for that!
I'm now pretty much done with it so the rebates and the 40D are no longer of interest to me. I get the feeling Canon is playing a chess match with us at this point....I resigned

Well, you know how it is with big organization - still clearing the mess of previous rebate season, writing reports of what went wrong, maybe considering new middlemen, reporting back. Meanwhile everyone is barely breathing not to scare the upcoming joy and thunder from a new endeavor. It's good thing I won't need anything this season. I hope...

I'll bet that's part of it. Cleanup of the last rebate session, as evidenced here in this forum. The other part is that the last round of rebates was extended.

Who knows, I'll go do a rain dance now for no apparent reason. Are we starting a May 2nd thread tomorrow?

Seriously. I think I'm going crazy. I want a 5d. I didn't start considering one until a couple of weeks after the rebates ended last time around. Why haven't the new ones started yet? I just know the minute I buy one, the new rebates will have started. I wish I never found this site with all you theorists out there speculating when the new round will start!

I'm going crazy as well. I'm checking every 15 minutes. I've got until next monday, I believe. At that point I have to order.

Why not just buy a used 5D and get "instant" rebate?

well the spring rebate was extended this year, so maybe they plan on holding out till the end of summer for new rebates. in the end you can't wait forever...

Yes, I have a feeling they're just going to skip to an early fall program.
