Well to celebrate my 3000th post here on POTN, and as luck would have it (timing)..I went by one of the burrowing owl nest and low and behold, there were five brand new babies. These guys are the cutest things in the world. They are about the size of a adult males hand (some were smaller). I tried in vane to get a group shot, but they were no having it today, too much movement. Then I decided to isolate them and try to get one or two at a time. I put my trusty wind shield sun screen on the ground and got down to their eye level (lying flat on the ground). I like the results and hope you do also. I'll try and get a group shot a little later. These are all full frame uncropped shots with the 100-400IS L and 20D. The final shot in the post was cropped slightly.

Yes I'm tiny, but I can take you....they are really small, notice the blade of grass

Great series. I have to get to where these owls are to get some shots. I've heard talk that they maybe around the area I live in, but have never seen them. Reyno or Mike, you ever seen any or heard about them in the central area of Florida?

Wow, Keith. Those are spectacular. The bokeh in the first and fourth shots are wonderful, not to mention the cuteness factor in all of them. Great work.
