These are a few more shots from my day out with Trevor and Dan. We saw a lot of birds that day, ....and more to come.

Dan is investigating what type of gull this is. Juvenile Iceland, Glaucous, Hybrid or perhaps Albino Herring.

I made Dan slam the brakes on and back up when I saw this Sharp Shinned on the side of the road.

Trevor has the sharp eye for hawks and spotted this Rough Legged off in the distance.

Nice pics, Shirley.

Your "sharp shinned" is a female merlin, incidentally.

I think the gull is an Iceland - the beak looks a little bit smaller and the face a bit more "gentle" than glaucous (tough angle though).

Nice pics.

Hi Keith. Thanks for the ids. Dan (snowyowl13) has some better shots of the gulls we saw and is getting a variety of opinions on what they are.

Yes, I did notice that. I thought at first it was fish.

Nice series Shirley. That's quite a variety of birds for just a ride in the country. :)

Nice shots, my favorite is the one of the Female Merlin.
I have only seen a male, and that was only as it was flying through my bird feeding station. Mostly a flash of light Gray ( on its back) as it was flying through.
