I'm partial to wood ducks. All great shots!

RW - this is the first woody I've seen. He wasn't super close but I thought I might be able to make a go of it. I was hoping he would have turned a little to his left but I had to take what he offered me. Thank you for your nice comments!

Great work , the kestrel shot is stunning.

Chris, glad you liked the Kestrel. It is an amazingly beautiful bird and I never pass up a chance to photograph it. I will be sure to watch this bird house closely as I revisit the wetlands in the future. I appreciate your kind comments.

Wow, beautiful series you have there Dennis. The sparrows are Lincoln's and Golden-crowned. I also agree on the Orange-crowned warbler. Was the KEstrel nesting there, or just looking for snack? :)

Well done my friend.

Thanks Sindri and Fee, your comments are valued. Thanks, too, Fee for the ID's. I need to get much better at that.

I believe the Kestrel was nesting. There is a certain area of the wetlands where the Kestrels seem to live and hunt and I can always expect to see them there--not necessarily close though! lol. This is the first time I've seen one land on the bird house in their neck of the woods, so I am fairly sure that this guy is using it. Hope to see more activity there in the coming weeks.
