How can I take the edited images (that were finalized in CS2), and get them into LR, built a slideshow in LR and then burn the slideshow to CD

Did you start in LR or CS2?
If you started in CS2 then import the finished files into LR.
If you started in LR and edited in CS2 you need to select the new copy generated.

at the point of completion you select your photos in Library then select Slideshow and manipulate as desired. When ready Export your Slideshow and in the dialog select your CD.

I am having trouble with slide shows in light room because 4-5 seconds is not enough time for lightroom to fully draw every pixel on the screen (render the picture in full resolution). I am dealing with 10 megapixel JPEGS and my computer has 2 GB of ram and a fast processor. The built in windows XP slide show can render the pictures easily enough so can Canon's software but the lightroom software renders much too slowly resulting in a slide show that looks like it was shot out of focus.

Anyone else having this problem?

I have slides set at 6 seconds
and fades set at 2.5 seconds.

I have discovered that is I view all the photo's in lightroom prior to putting them in a slide show they will render properly. I think that light room is just so slow and resource intensive that it takes longer than 6 seconds to render the pictures?

Wouldn't changing the fade setting from 2.5 to something less like 1 second help with smoother rendering?

What have you determined as the minimum Slide and Fade for that size of file? If, time is a constraint then you could export to a smaller JPG then bring them back in for the slide show.
I agree that LR is slow, and many folks have had issues with slowness, but not always attributed directly to LR. My virus scanner was sucking 50% CPU and some memory. LR runs much faster now that I've replaced my security software.

I have had the same issue with Lightroom taking a long time to fully open the files and have my slideshow settings in Lightroom set to 7seconds/2.5 seconds. However, when I export the slideshow to pdf, I knock down the timings to 4.5 and 1.5 seconds and have had no problems with the images loading quickly outside of Lightroom. So you should be okay to set your timings lower for exported slideshows and not have the loading problems (at least in my experience :) ). my .02

I figured out the solution to my problem by watching Micheal Tapes videos http://www.whibalhost.com …hotoshop_LR/05/index.html (external link)
What you do is in the Library module select the images or image folder that you want to render properly in your slide show and go <MENU> <LIBRARY> <Previews> <Render Standard Size Previews>
Now when you select those images in a slide show they will render instantly.

This is truly an incredible program with so much to learn!:D
