I always knew i liked his stuff but i just took a look through Laz's gallery and i'm just amazed at what he has done with the camera he now has sitting in a box under his bed.

I think it's safe to say he's the most influential person to me on these boards. But i'd like to see if i'm missing anyone, who's yours?

There are quite a few who regularly post kick ass photography on this board. I have to agree that Laz is one of my favorites, but there are so many others... some that come to mind right off the bat are Henkbos, Don Ellis, J.A.F., Charles Umberger, CDS, Leighow.... I could go on and on, but there are just so many. But its more than just the photos... everyone here has been so welcoming, helpful and downright friendly. That to me is why pretty much everyone on this forum kicks ass! Thanks to everyone here for making this my favorite place to hang and for helping me improve my photography skills and knowledge! You are all too cool 8) 8) 8) 8)

Edit: Oh yeah, and thanks for helping me ruin my credit too!

It’s impossible to answer this question as asked. Could you imagine the Oscars with just one prize? What would that category be?

Here are possible permutations of the same questions that make it easier to come of specific names.

Who's your favorite:

Photographer of ducks cleaning lint out of their navels?
Photographer of heat shimmering off race cars?
Photographer of rulers?
Photographer of their messy desks?
Photographer of guys grabbing their crotches outside night clubs?
Poster of inane prattle?
Acerbic wit?
At writing opinions in Share Photos?
Creator of ridiculous surveys?
Member with ‘gross’ in their name?

Who’s most diplomatic?
Who’s most direct?
Who’s the worst typist?
Who uses the biggest words?
Who uses the biggest words well?
Who would you most like to meet in person someday?

Who do you wish would just go away?

And so forth.

I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!

Man, how do you pick a favorite jellybean out of a 50 pound bag? Do you eat the red ones first? What about the yellow ones? The black ones scream out at you, "Me First! Me First!" What about the new Rootbeer ones? In the end you realize that you have no favorites, that they all bring something to your pallett that you enjoy.

I don't wanna but I gotta say something :D

When I bought my 10d I only wanted a P&S with changeable lens and a faster shutter than my Nikon 885 :D I had had several film SLR's but never learned how to get past the auto mode ?!

The I came here

Thanks to ALL you guys I now rarely use auto and can even use manual  I learned about (L) glass and photography in general......Maybe one day I will get it right. :D I can now do a little in PS and have continued to experiment in RAW :D No,,, I still shoot mostly Jpeg but I am thinking and learning.

So to ALL OF YOU HERE

YOU are the best

JZ

Well, I don't know. I'm hesitant to name names, because I know I'll forget so many. Off the top of my head though, in alphabetical order...

Don Ellis
felixlau
megaweb
Pekka
sdommin
Slejhamer
tenerife

...there are so many more, but I forget, and my memory won't be jarred until I see another of their images.

As for people, now that's a whole different story. Most everyone here is very very friendly. It makes it a pleasure to be a part of this little community.

As a note:
I don't think I'm as much of a photographer as everyone thinks. I just post more often than most, and am more visible, therefore embedded into your psyche, like a .jpg in a RAW file

I feel really bad as i forgot to mention RFM

His shots are actually the reason i first thought about buying a digital camera.

I cant agree with you on this. I think some of us post images too much, you manage to post photos that make me stare at my screen for 2 mins. Either you take a ton of photos and post a few, or you just have a very natural photographic eye.
