Beautiful shot that really shows off the stunning colors of this bird. Well done ! How close are you able to get to him ? Do you use a blind ?

I was using 500 + 1.4x + 2x, mounted inside my car. I think it was about 20 ft away by the road. Enjoy...

Great shots George. The only thing that might improve the first shot, IMHO, would be to brighten the eye a little with fill flash or, use Photoshop to select the eye and increase the brightness a small amount.

Spectacular shots! I spotted a Kingfisher the other day but my one shot was no where near the quality of these.
