I am by no means, an expert..just learning to shoot track myself. With that in mind, I humbly offer this suggestion on the broadjump. If you have a long enough lens, or zoom..try to get at the end of the jump..rather than shooting from an angle, then isolate the jumper as much as possible.
This isn't a perfect example, and I'm not dead center, but maybe this will give you an idea.

Thanks I did the best that I could without having credentials to be down on the field. I was just taking the shots that I could get without drawing attention to myself. Next year I will be ready.

I apologize. I didn't realize you weren't down on the field. That's what I get for assuming....
Given your circumstances, (in stands) they were great shots!

It's good to see some track pictures. My son runs summer AAU track and this is the first season that I've had a dslr so it's gonna be fun.

Just read some of the replies, great shots for shooting from in the stands. Really impressive for the stands. It's a pity you couldn't get in a little tighter on some of the shots, they would have captured a different feel. I like the contrast and composition. It might be my monitor but it seems some of the photos aren't sharp enough for me, but that's a personal matter. Great work.
