Upgrade to CS3 - How best to Learn?

I am thinking of upgrading from Elements 4.0 to the new Photoshop CS3 (I can get it with the academic discount for $289).

What are some good web sites and/or books for learning basics, such as curves, channels, mask, etc.? Of course, this forum is a great place to learn, too.
