Here is a thread about this lens that is pretty recent.
https://photography-on-the.net …=310532&highlight=arsenal

I looked into it and it seems that they stopped manufacturing it in the EOS mount, but its still available in some shops in Asia. B&H has the Nikon mount on special order and with an adapter should work, but the aperture would be manual and not show up in your EXIF.

The lens has supposedly gone out of production. The Cosina factory that used to make these Voigtlander lenses is apparently now producing Zeiss lenses. Previously I posted a thread with some sample photos from this lens. Have a look if you like:

There just was a long thread on this at FredMiranda forums. Nice lens but very expensive. Did come in an EOS mount. Cheapest I could find one was $800. Photozone.de has done a review. It is sharpest wide open or stopped down a bit but loses IQ sooner than other lenses stopped down more. Tempting but too much money for me.

Not sure about now. But just a month or so ago I could still find new pieces for sale at Ebay for around US$600. And CameraQuest sells them for just slightly over that...not anywhere near US$800, unless prices have gone up since the supply started to dry up.

I just bought one in ebay. Prices have changed, but if you want something, you always have to pay for it. In my case, $1399 plus customs and VAT.

Not received yet. Hands shaking of enthusiasm.:D

Congratulations! I'd be curious to find out how your 135L compares and if you end up preferring one over the other.

I have seen many people make the comment: I sold my EF 135/2 after getting this lens.

I have both the SL125 and EF 135L. I would never sell the Voightlander. All that said, I use my 135L frequently as the AF is useful when I don't want to try and focus on quick moving subjects (such as my dogs). I've never really done a comparison and as I lost my extension tubes this spring, doubt I ever will. Both are great lenses; each with some advantages. As I shoot this FL frequently, I'll probably always have both.

BTW, if anyone knows where I could find the square rubber cap shown in the picture please let me know. Mine is somewhere in the Everglades...

Thanks, I finally found it and placed the order. Spendy but I always keep the square hood on the lens and got tired of the plastic bag and rubber band.

I know nothing about the optical qualities of the lens, but that rectangular hood is pure sexy. :)

The entire thing is a very good looker of a lens thats for sure..

Just reminds you of that time that will never come again, when lenses were made of metal instead of plastic ;)
