Thanks everybody!
So far I've clicked 144 shots.
What I found most amazing is the significant number of cords and cables. The last camera I purchased was the EOS-1n and I can put two of those boxes in the MKIIn box. :-) I also purchased 2 - 4GB Extreme III cards, a protective case for the said cards, and an extra battery. It was a grand day indeed (Oh yea, and I think my 57 Chevy is sold today also. He said he would come back with money later tonight)

The controls are very similar to the controls on my film camera. The most complex activity so far was to figure out how to maneuver around in the menus.... Yah, I had to read the manual.

The family is amazed at the frame rate. My youngest son decided not to have his picture taken and tried to cover himself up with a blanket. I captured 3 frames of his face before being obstructed by blanket.

I have only one complaint so far - the smell of rubber!! Makes me sick !! Hopefully the smell will go away shortly.

I set the color space to aRGB for fun. I haven't printed yet, but they look great in LR.

I haven't setup my custom functions yet. I wanna play with it in standard config for a few days. My film camera had a number of CFs setup I'll just copy them if needed.

ISO 1600 seems to function well. I can shoot in the house with out much degradation.

I'm impressed with this unit. I'll shoot some stuff over the weekend and share my findings.

On my desk at this very moment is an unopened box containing an MKIIn from B&H. I'm shaking. I'll be back later to recap the experience!

Congrats! Enjoy!

I left the 1D box out here......... There is no time to put it way.

The 30Ds here are lonely. Very lonely.

Congrats. I've had a week with mine... I'm still trying to figure out some focus challenges related to AI servo, but I'm getting the hang of it. Here's a raw image with a levels adjustment. Yes I know this isn't the best lighting. I'm just tickled with the sharpness. I almost always had to sharpen images from my 300D no matter what mode I used.

such a fun camera. the first time you here the 8.5fps it's a dream...and I even downloaded (and listened repeatedly to) the sound of the shutter even before the camera was in my hands.

enjoy it.

Snap! Picked up my MkIIn last Monday, sadly I haven't had a chance to use it yet but it sure feels nice in the hand. Makes my 20D feel like a toy now.

Looking forward to the weekend to get out and doing some serious snapping!

Funny you named your camera "Beast". My oldest son said "This is a beastly camera".

If I can be patient and not spend my camera savings, I'll have one in a few paydays.
