interesting b/g color...it almost matches his/her eyes!!! AND you can see the grooved platelet thingys on its bill. great capture

The duck was sitting on a stone fence that surrounds a traditional Chinese building. The building is what you see in the BG. Here's another pic that shows a bit (not a lot) more context:
