I've never seen one of these before (rose-breasted grosbeak). Of course, I was all out of position when he made his appearance, hence the bad lighting in the shot. Hopefully, he'll come again.

Aren't they cool? I've only had them for about a week, now, but they're coming regularly and in numbers. The female is nothing like the male, but you've probably got ladies in the trees, too. You'll get better shots as they get used to your feeders.

Oh, I do hope so. It's been quite the day, as I've had four hummingbird sightings as well, probably all of the same bird on repeat trips to the feeder, but a thrill nevertheless!

thanks - I already have it, but didn't think the shot was worth the effort. I"m hoping he'll return for an encore presentation.
But your edit is very nice and I thank you for it.

Glad to see you have them there Nancy. This gives me hope. Dows anyone have a picture of the female?

Here are a couple of ladies from this week's visitors. You can see, they're very different from the male of the species.
