I just recently discovered the joys of shooting straight RAW photos with my 30D. But, I find it a bit annoying when trying to view them. With my JPEGs, I could easily see which one I wanted to edit/open in a thumbnail view. To save me the hassel of opening all my files one at time in PS CS2, I shot last time in RAW/Fine JPEG.

I'm looking to view RAW files in thumbnail form. Is there way to do this without shooting JPEGs along with it?

Are you using a PC or a Mac? If you are using a PC, then you can download Microsoft's RAW Image Thumbnailer and Viewer from here:

http://www.microsoft.com …66FD4A3286&displaylang=en (external link)

Once you have this installed, you can view the RAW images as thumbnails in Windows Explorer, just like jpegs. You know that with CS2 you also get Bridge. This is a browser application that will allow you to view your RAW files as thumbnails, open them in ACR and them Photoshop.

Unfortunately, it doesn't support 30D RAW files

You can also use Zoombrowser, which comes with the camera. It's very easy to use...and the images are there all the time, RAW or jpeg. I like it...and it's free.

DPMagic CE gives you thumbnails of 30D RAW files in Windows Explorer and it's free.
