I could ask this question in any of the photo sections, but since I spend most of my time here I'll start here. There are so many fantastic photos posted here that their can't be enough wall space to hang them. So what do most people here do with their wall hangers? Do you sell them, or display a few in your house and change them now and then? Do you let them sit on your computers or take them, view them and later delete them?(Either of these choices would be a crime)
I am only 1 year into this hobby. Here is what I do. I print out the ones I like the best( I print 8x10s) and have displayed them(not specifically to sell) where I work. This has led to some people asking to buy a few,me giving a few away and a showing at a small university in our state next year.(I have to confess my sister is the head of the art department there).

So what do you do with the photos you like best?

I just created my own little website and have hosted a few of my pictures there. www.toddstack.com (external link)

I usually just email the link to friends and family and wait for feedback.

;)

A project of mine - I haven't done it yet :-) would be to buy a few frames and make several enlargements that would fit the frames. Then I could have a rotation and change the pics that are on the wall every now and then without needing to buy a frame every time. I like variety.

As I look up from where I am seated in my living room, I see eight 8x10 photos matted and framed (inexpensively, I might add) and hanging on the wall. These are some of my best shots but being relatively new, I know they are good but not necessarily great shots. Next year, I would expect to see different (and much better) shots up there. I know I have photos that I have taken in the past month that are "better" than those hanging on the wall. That's a good thing and I will probably swap some of them out over time.

I have also matted and framed (again inexpensively) about 10 more photos and have them hanging in my office. I've had folks stop by and tell me how much they like them. It makes me feel good. I have also had several offers to buy a couple of them but, for now, I am not interested in selling.

The rest are stored on my laptop and on CDs.

I have only printed one of my pics at 8x10. It looks better on my monitor. I have 25 DVD's burned with just the RAW's from last August or so and I have two hard drives in my tower and two 120Gb externals. Right now I have about 100Gb of images either burned to disc or on a hard drive.

I recently spent 3 days just deleting junk pics or dupes. Got rid of 67.5Gb of RAW's and jpg's. I'm a recovering Packrat, so it was painfull but hey, it's one day at a time...

I print my good ones out in 4X6 and put in photo album to show friends when out shooting and family... and I give framed shots as birthday gifts...
